Resin alone does not make a GRP roof.
The waterproof layer is created by consolidating glass reinforcement into the catalysed Premier resin and completing it with the specified topcoat. Every deck joint, edge, corner, outlet and wall junction has to preserve that laminate continuity.
CrysticROOF® Premier Resin
The catalysed polyester resin forms the structural laminate when fully wetting and bonding the specified chopped strand mat.
CSM and woven tape
Chopped strand mat creates the field laminate, while woven reinforcement supports continuity across board edges, trim joints and local details.
Premier Isophthalic Topcoat
The dedicated topcoat provides the exposed finished surface and long-term weathering performance within the Premier build-up.
GRP trims and ancillaries
Drips, raised edges, wall fillets, flashings, corners, angles, flat sheets and movement profiles form repeatable roof geometry before lamination.
The mat weight defines the laminate—not just the roll.
Lighter matting helps form controlled local details, while the specified field reinforcement creates the main waterproof laminate. Weight, number of layers and resin consumption must follow the selected system route.
225 g/m² CSM
Lightweight chopped strand matting for local laminating, tighter corners, returns and complex small-radius details where a heavier mat is difficult to form.
450 g/m² CSM
Standard field reinforcement used within the documented CrysticROOF® laminate route when correctly wetted out and consolidated with the specified resin.
600 g/m² CSM
Higher-weight field reinforcement for the stronger Premier laminate route and projects requiring the corresponding manufacturer guarantee build-up.
225 g/m² matting is shown as a practical detailing material in the supplied range; it is not presented as the main CrysticROOF® Premier field laminate. Scott Bader documents the Premier field build-up using 450 g/m² and 600 g/m² CSM. Final reinforcement, layer count, resin coverage and guarantee route must follow current controlled system documentation.
Deck, detail, laminate, finish.
The field area is only one part of the roof. The completed system depends on the preparation and continuity of every interface.
- 01Confirm the roof design
Check the structural deck, falls, drainage, supports, joints and whether the Premier guarantee and fire route are required.
- 02Install and align trims
Select each profile by working dimension, form the perimeter and wall details, then prepare joints for reinforcement.
- 03Control resin and catalyst
Measure catalyst against the current temperature guidance and work within the available cure window.
- 04Wet out and consolidate the CSM
Create a continuous laminate without dry fibres, trapped air, weak laps or loss of reinforcement through corners.
- 05Complete the Premier topcoat
Apply the specified finish at the required coverage and verify continuity, weather protection and handover documentation.
Premier performance depends on installation control.
Scott Bader requires GRP installation in dry conditions; wet decking or laminate must be fully dried before work continues.
Reinforcement weight, installer approval and guarantee documentation must be agreed before materials are selected.
The profile code and both working dimensions need to suit the fascia, gutter, wall or adjoining roof detail.
Catalyst addition, material temperature and working time directly affect cure and final quality.
