FLEXITEC combines reinforced liquid-roofing performance with full-overlay and new-deck capability. Its versatility makes substrate identification, primer choice and the condition of the existing roof central to the specification.

A flexible overlay route with new-deck capability.

FLEXITEC can create a seamless reinforced membrane across many common roof substrates. The key is not simply whether it can bond, but whether the existing roof is structurally and technically suitable to retain beneath an overlay.

Retain a suitable existing roof

Overlay can reduce strip-off and disruption, but only after moisture, adhesion, defects, movement and remaining serviceability have been assessed.

02 / NEW DECK

Create a complete new build-up

New-deck work still needs correct board installation, joints, edge details, penetrations and the full reinforced membrane sequence.

03 / COMPONENTS

Resin, hardener, primer and CSM

The single-resin concept sits inside a complete system that includes the correct primer, powder hardener, reinforcement and detailing materials.

04 / PROJECT ROUTE

Standard or Platinum

FLEXITEC Platinum is the separate specified-project route, available by special order and governed by its own certification and installer requirements.

FLEXITEC REINFORCEMENT / SYSTEM COMPONENT

Reinforcement weight changes what the laminate can become.

FLEXITEC is not an unreinforced coating. The 225 g/m² system mat forms the reinforced roof membrane, while heavier 450 and 600 g/m² matting can be used in project-specific fabrication where a more substantial formed laminate is required.

Res-Tec identifies 225 g/m² CSM as the standard FLEXITEC roof-system reinforcement and documents increased resin demand when heavier reinforcement is used. The 450/600 g/m² fabrication examples shown here are project-specific technical applications—not automatic substitutes for a controlled FLEXITEC roofing or guarantee build-up.

SYSTEM CONTROL

The roof assessment controls the resin schedule.

The same product family can be used on very different roofs, but the preparation and build-up must respond to the actual substrate.

    Survey the roof

    Confirm deck condition, existing coverings, moisture, falls, drainage, movement and the cause of current defects.

    Prove compatibility

    Identify the substrate precisely and confirm preparation, primer and any adhesion-test requirements.

  3. 03
    Prepare and form details

    Complete repairs, trims, outlets, penetrations and reinforcement transitions before the main field area.

  4. 04
    Install the reinforced build-up

    Control hardener, resin application, CSM embedment, laps, coverage and weather conditions.

  5. 05
    Inspect and document

    Verify continuity, finish, terminations and the training or guarantee route required for the project.

CHECK BEFORE SELECTION

Versatility still requires discipline.

01Is overlay appropriate?

A failing or moisture-loaded roof should not be retained simply because a coating can adhere to its surface.

02What is the substrate?

Felt, asphalt, concrete, GRP, PVC and metal details can require different preparation and primer decisions.

03Which details move?

Board joints, perimeter trims, changes in direction and penetrations must be incorporated into the reinforced build-up.

04Roof membrane or fabricated surface?

A custom counter, bar or formed object needs its own support, laminate thickness, reinforcement and finish—not only a roof-system coverage rate.

05What project route applies?

Fire classification, warranty, installer training and Platinum requirements should be established before pricing.
